We reviewed exercise 6, then completed notes and exercise 7 together.
Homework: Notes p. 4 + exercises 8 & 9 We reviewed exercises 3 & 4 from the grammar book and continued working on the guided notes for chapter 1 (the pink packet).

Homework: Notes p. 2 + exercises 2 & 3 We set up our binders with grammar notes and notebook paper, then completed the guided notes on page 1.
Homework: Notes p. 1 + exercises 1 & 2 Today, students worked on their grammar pre-test and read their AR books once they finished. Tomorrow we will begin guided notes for Unit 1 of the grammar textbooks.
Homework: Bring binder and grammar book tomorrow Today, students completed a grammar pre-test that will be scored, but it will not be graded for accuracy. Students will receive 10 points for its completion; however, when the final grammar test is taken at the end of the year, it will be graded for accuracy at that point.
Homework: Bring grammar books + binders to class Tuesday Today, students completed an initial writing assignment based on the short story "Eleven" by Sandra Cisneros. They were to write a 4-paragraph essay explaining how the ending of the story would change if the 2 main characters (Rachel and Mrs. Price) had different character traits. For example, Rachel tends to be very sensitive; how would the ending change if she were not sensitive?
